Why I Don’t Fix Sewing Mistakes?

Here are some of the reasons…

  1. No one will know but me.
  2. I’m not perfect.
  3. The Amish ladies make a mistake because they say they aren’t perfect and that only God is.
  4. I’m too lazy! (This excuse is probably the one I use the most.)

Looking at the first block you just might think that the bottom right four patch is where I did the mistake, but if you look at the second block this is how the block is suppose to look like.

I’m doing Pat Sloan’s Vacation Block of the Month and the first block I did before Eden was born and I didn’t mind the mistake. But after she was born I decided to just take out trusty ole Jack the Ripper and get to work at making the block look right.

1. It’s true, no one will know but me. But for some reason this block just called me to fix it and I did. I’m happier that I did even though I don’t know the placement of the block yet.

2. I’m surely not perfect and I don’t pretend to be either. I like leaving the mistakes in to see if I can catch it the next time I look at the quilt top. 🙂

3. The Amish ladies purposely make a mistake in the their quilting because they say they aren’t perfect and that God is the only one. Yup, God is the only perfect being. I’m a believer in God and Christ.

4. I’m too lazy! Ain’t this the truth!! I don’t like redoing blocks and wasting my time, thread, and more fabric. I’m sure I’m not the only one in this. 🙂

Do you fix your sewing mistakes?
