How To Organize Your Fabric Stash

I needed to organize my fabric stash, it was getting out of hand. I’ve been looking for ways to organize my stash the way I would like it for months. I’ve looked on Pinterest but nothing caught my attention. They all looked nice in their cabinets or shelves but the author wouldn’t tell how he/she did it. Then I read in one of the many quilting groups that I’m in, on Facebook, on how they used comic book boards for their fabric stash.
So I was intrigued.
Wouldn’t you be?
I purchased a 100 count Silver Comic Book Backing Boards in November to start organizing my fabric stash in the bins that I already had, but that didn’t help the fabrics that I had on boards that I had gotten from Joann’s or Walmart. That 100 count comic boards didn’t last long so I had to purchase another 100 of them.

Then I ran out of the next 100 comic boards that I recently purchased. I went to count how many more fabrics I had, it was over 200, and I wasn’t going to buy another 200 or 300 of the comic boards so I started wrapping my fabric around a 6 1/2″ ruler of mine and that did the trick!!!

I will show my finished fabric stash area once I’m all done or close to it! I’ve been at this for 4 days now and I’m loving pulling out the bins with the fabrics and their measurements for projects. It’s making my life easier.
I have a bin for my Christmas fabrics, 3 bins for my solids, a bin for my patriotic fabrics, a bin for my breast cancer fabrics and now I’m working on my polka dot fabrics and I just might have two bins for that! Like I’ve said, I’m not done!!! I use Sterilite Large Stacking bins and you can find them at your Menard’s or Lowe’s stores.
